Bio
Active in the music industry since 2005, Rob has worked as a freelance journalist for publications including NME, Drowned in Sound, BBC South Yorkshire, Rock Feedback and Artrocker. He was also Music Editor at the Sheffield Telegraph newspaper.

In 2009, he joined the Digital Distribution team at AWAL. The company became part of Kobalt Music Group in 2012, helping form a new Label Services which has since released records by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Pet Shop Boys, Best Coast, Kele, Todd Terje and Maya Jane Coles.

IF YOU ONLY KNEW - FILM NOIR VIDEO by Claus Zinger

Vocal sound is maybe an acquired taste (a little trace of Future Islands' Samuel Herring on the grittier moments, perhaps?), but some really good melodies and another strong video to accompany it. Not entirely sure about the ending though, seems to go out with something of a whimper when perhaps another repetition of the chorus or an instrumental break might better serve the dynamics of the track.

Interesting sound, particularly nice interplay between the piano chords and bass. Visual is strong, too. One slight criticism... doesn't quite get to where I wanted it to go - not really the resolution/pay off that the build-up deserves (I respect that this may not be the point, and it's obviously not a track that would have "a drop"). Definitely keen to hear more!
