Title
Music Magazine Editor / New Music Writer
Bio
I've been the editor of the biggest independent online new music magazine The Line of Best Fit for over five years. I'm genuinely excited by the potential in new music and that's what I'm looking for when I listen - that little thing, sometimes hidden away quite deeply, that reveals the essence of the artist and hints at what they're capable of. I'll feedback honestly based on what I feel a track is lacking or excels in. If a song is right then I'll also write about it on The Line of Best Fit.

For me - as someone covering new music and looking for that edge/potential - it JUST verges on the side of something I'd be into and given the right story about the band I'd probably want to hear more and write about it. Within the UK I'd be pushing this to fans of The Staves, Civil Wars, Band of Horses, even Mumfords although I wonder if it would also resonate as well with an older audience (the ones that love the older Alt Country stuff etc). It would be good to hear more stuff to get a balanced view of the band and vocal range of the singer so please hit me up if there's more to listen to!

To my ear there's the bones of a decent song here but the production and vocal is very clean and it kinda overrides any edge the song could/should have. The emotional high points/build up in the track is doesn't have the same punch it could for the same reason. When the chorus kicks in, I wanna feel something much more than I feel. Percussion doesn't punctuate the sections of the song enough either so I'm not getting pulled along by it. Vocal's real nice and a voice I believe in though but yeh, it just feels like there needs to be tons more punch to pull the listener into/through the song and make them feel things at the right points.

For me the key thing is finding the people who have an eye for sharing really great content that fits their own personal ethos or themes. The nuances of their likes and dislikes are the important factor too - things that really are more pronounced across social networks. I'd say those people are key to the success of new social netowrks. too. I really like this idea though, I'd certainly try out state.
