I’m T-Nugg the Phoenix and I am change. Ugly. Curry boy. Terrorist. For the longest time I felt those words defined me. I remember being afraid to be brown, afraid to be Muslim. Afraid to be me. When people say you don’t belong, how can you love yourself? When they say your loved ones don’t belong, how can you have love at all? I thought my only choice was to hide. Hiding though, that’s hell. If you’re not speaking your mind, speaking your soul, speaking to the truth of your identity, you’re not truly living. Music allows me to express myself in a way that cannot be ignored. My raw dynamic style, soaked in rich distinct instrumentals, breathes a new life into the hip-hop scene. Crafting my upcoming album, AIRBORNE, taught me how to tackle my demons. I hope by listening to my music, others can gain insight on how to tackle theirs. Muslim. Feminist. Artist. I define who I am. Alright, enough talking. Listen to my submissions ya dingus. Enjoy.

Sounds kinda familiar! 😂 Mastering is super aggressive! I had to turn it down quite a bit. More importantly, the "quiet" sections sound as loud or louder than the "loud" sections. I'm having a hard time understanding the words, I think because the synth pad is so heavy in the low mids. If you cleared some room around 200 Hz, the vocals would be more intelligible. A couple suggestions for future Fluence submissions: 1. Include the lyrics so we can follow along. 2. Include a short, catchy description of the song or act that's easy to copy/paste for social media sharing. That way we don't have to strain our brain coming up with something clever, and you get to choose how you're presented to the world. I'll go ahead and share this because of the Stranger Things connection! Thanks for sharing it with me.
