"Creates a sound that is complete and completely his own" - Sarah Murphy, Exclaim!
Guitar virtuosity, check. Vocal chops, check.
Great songs, check. The look, check.
Throughout his career, Justin has been likened to John Mayer, Prince, Nile Rogers and Jimi Hendrix for his guitar playing. His vocals have drawn praise and comparisons to Prince, Chris Martin and David Bowie. His live performances have been compared to the energy and intensity, as well as musical brilliance, of legends like Prince and Mick Jagger. Did we mention that he also has 39 thousand Instagram followers?
Based out of Regina, Saskatchewan, Justin's song, "The View" has been charting on European radio. The song is released under his previous monicker, Jadius.
Justin made the decision to move away from the Jadius name and embrace his own name as a result years of self-reflection which culminated in a very transformative experience while recording new songs in the cold Saskatchewan winter of February, 2017.
"There has been some sort of shift in the way I view myself and my work. A sudden realization that I should be proud of who I am and of my work, and not hide behind some monicker. I want people to remember my name when they think of these songs, not a monicker. I'm leaving a legacy and I feel like I'm just getting started."
Justin is currently putting final touches on the songs with the first single to be expected late summer 2017.
Justin has been a musician for 13 years(or 18 if you count when he first began learning the craft). During this time he has been performing in his hometown of Regina as well as touring across Canada with Fur Eel (Funk Pop Rock). He has opened for July Black and Matt Dusk as well as studied guitar and mixing through Berklee College of Music Online. Justin has also enjoyed playing guitar in Regina bands The Pile of Bones Brass Band (New Orleans Dixieland Jazz) and The Bureau (Hip Hop, Jazz, Funk). With these various projects he has performed at numerous festivals including Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, Regina Folk Festival, Gateway Festival and YXE Food Truck Festival.
