This feels like one of those songs which has been around for ages, such is its immediacy and sense of familiarity. James has a good voice and the simple structure provides a good backdrop for the heartfelt vocals. Definitely someone to keep an eye on!
Hi James, Thank you so much for your submission! This is brilliant. Will need an MP3 so I can play on my KCRW show...And also, will check out your soundcloud page to see what other stuff you got cooking...Where are you based? I think a stripped down version of this could do very well at my weekly Desert Nights series at The Standard... Definitely sharing this... Thank you!
A great fusion of fast-paced blues and psychedelic Britpop, which displays the hallmark of a confident, accomplished musician. I thought the vocal delivery was a little bit casual in places, but perhaps that was the stylistic intention! Overall, a good trip into a summery, retro-leaning realm.
This has a flavour of the kind of impassioned, almost orchestral indie of bands like My Life Story in the late 90s. The song is well constructed and the instrumentation and vocal work well together, pushing the song forward and urging the listener onward. Well produced, too. Great to hear good stuff like this coming out of Manchester!
Hi James, Thank you so much for your submission. This is lovely... I love all the key changes! And am rather surprised at how well they all work together...You've done a really great job with it all... I also love the 60s influences... Will definitely play this on my radio show if I can get an MP3....and will help spread the word! I'm getting ready to head out to Coachella...and must say, this track will work great for the desert drive! Hope to hear more from you!
