Manager at The Merge, postmodern hip-hop group, we also like quesadillas.

I like the vision, but felt like there was too much going on for this to be the head banger for radio play. Something with less changes, one big hook that loops and variations on that would work with these type of vocals. Keep it up!
The Merge's "Libra" is a breathless and energetic hip-hop effort with tons of character, reminiscent of Das Racist's stream-of-conscious wit -- especially in the verses. The bits of reverbed vocals remind me favorably of Gorillaz' production, which is a comparison that's brought to mind by the ominous and spacey beat, my favorite aspect of the track. At first I wasn't quite sure what to think, since the structure was so immediate, but after the two minutes I find myself inclined to replay it and continue listening. Great work! Look out for a post on Obscure Sound in the near future. -Mike
